Akuvox R28A intercom door station hearing impaired module

Akuvox R28A door intercom with display, card reader and keypad

The Akuvox R28A is a practical door intercom for everyday use in apartment buildings, commercial premises and industrial sites. It is built for long-term use, with a durable aluminium front panel, reliable operation even in very harsh weather and easy integration with existing access control systems.

The R28A makes entering a building convenient and straightforward. The 4.3-inch colour display and wide-angle camera let you identify visitors visually, while two-way IP audio with echo cancellation ensures clear communication even in noisy environments. The 2 MP camera with automatic illumination performs reliably day and night.

A key advantage is support for an induction loop amplifier (Induction Loop Amplifier), making the device suitable for people with hearing impairments who use hearing aids. This makes the R28A a suitable choice for public buildings and residential properties where access must be convenient for everyone.

The device supports a wide range of access and integration options: a numeric keypad with additional buttons, an RFID and NFC card reader (13.56 MHz and 125 kHz), Wiegand and RS485 interfaces, and multiple inputs and relay outputs for controlling doors, gates or other devices. PoE (IEEE 802.3af) delivers power and data over a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation and reducing cabling.

The R28A is designed for outdoor use. IP65 protection, a tamper alarm and an operating range of –40 °C to +55 °C ensure reliable performance even in the Estonian climate and in industrial environments. Installation is flexible: both flush-mounted and surface-mounted.
