Communication & notifications

• Communicates with the Ajax Hub via the Jeweller protocol: two-way encrypted communication, frequency hopping and authentication ensure reliability and resistance to interference (range up to ~1,700 m in open space)

• A low battery warning is sent at least 30 days before the battery runs out, via the app and the device LED

Alarm features

• Built-in 85 dB siren (at ~3 m) with distinct sound and LED patterns for smoke/heat or CO alarms

• When one detector detects a hazard, the sirens of all FireProtect detectors in the system are activated within a maximum of 20 seconds, even if the hub is not connected to the internet

Heat detection

• Complies with Class A1R standards (EN 54‑5, BS 5446‑2). An alarm is triggered:

  • When the temperature rises above ~64 °C, or

  • When the temperature rises by more than ~10 °C per minute

Carbon monoxide detection (CO)

• Electrochemical CO sensor that raises an alarm at the following levels:

  • 50 ppm ≈ 90 min,

  • 100 ppm ≈ 40 min,

  • 300 ppm ≈ 3 min,

  • 400 ppm ≈ life-threatening within ~3 hours — the device stops the alarm when the CO level drops below 50 ppm within a minute

• Sensor service life of up to 10 years, after which replacement of the device is recommended

Power & service life

• Powered by 2 × CR123A batteries (1600 mAh), with a battery life of up to 7 years

• The overall service life of the device is up to 10 years, after which sensitivity may decrease and the device should be replaced

LED indicators

• LED indicator:

  • Green: power status (flashes once every 56 seconds)

  • Yellow: fault—e.g. low battery, malfunction, end of service life

  • Red: hazard detected (CO or temperature alarm)

• Tamper: notifies of removal from the mounting plate

Installation and maintenance

• Indoor use only (IP20).

• Mounted on the ceiling using the SmartBracket mounting panel, which allows the device to be aligned at an angle of at least 90° after fixing

• A manual test can be run via the app or the button on the front panel — the test activates the siren and checks the sensor functions
