SK-20 is the world's smallest domestic smoke alarm. This stylish smoke alarm is powered by a 3 V lithium battery with a 10-year service life.

The SK-20 smoke alarm uses photoelectric sensing technology to detect smoke from different types of fire. The unit has a sensing chamber with a light beam and a light sensor. Smoke particles entering the chamber change the amount of light reaching the sensor. The alarm is triggered when the smoke density reaches a preset level. The smoke alarm has a self-diagnostic and monitoring function that ensures the unit operates correctly throughout its entire service life.

The button on the front of the unit serves as both a sounder test button and a hush button. In the event of a false alarm, the button can be used to silence the sounder for 10 minutes.

The battery is sealed inside the alarm and never needs replacing. After 10 years of operation, the unit sounds an audible signal indicating that the alarm needs to be replaced. In this case, the sounder emits three 10 ms beeps, 330 ms apart, every 43 seconds to signal that the alarm needs replacing. When the battery is nearing the end of its life, the smoke alarm emits short chirps to warn of a low battery. If a low battery warning occurs, it is strongly recommended to replace the alarm immediately.

• Low battery warning hush: when the battery is running low, pressing the test button silences the sounder for 8 hours.
• End-of-life indication: after 10 years of operation, the unit sounds an audible signal indicating that the alarm needs to be replaced.
• Local alarm memory: this function makes it easy to identify a unit that has previously been in a local alarm state.
