LightSwitch

LightSwitch Jeweller is a smart touch light switch for indoor installation. LightSwitch can replace any mechanical or touch switch. The range includes 1-gang, 2-gang and 2-way versions. The devices can be combined with Ajax smart switches and/or sockets and installed horizontally or vertically side by side using a Frame.

LightSwitch is installed without altering the existing electrical wiring. The device does not require a neutral wire and runs on the live wire only. The switch fits the standard European format (55).

LightSwitch works as part of the Ajax system and communicates with the hub via the secure Jeweller radio protocol. The communication range is up to 1,100 metres in open space.

Design

LightSwitch is a smart light switch. All switch components are purchased separately. The components snap together mechanically without tools. The Ajax range offers two LightSwitch formats: a single switch and a combined switch. Combined switches can be either horizontal or vertical.

Ajax switches and sockets configurator

Single switch

A single LightSwitch consists of two components: a LightCore relay and a SoloButton touch panel.

Combined switch

A combined switch consists of several LightCore relays and touch panels mounted in a frame with the corresponding number of slots.

Side panels are fitted to the right and left or top and bottom of the frame, while centre panels go in the middle. For example, three switches in one frame require two side panels and one centre panel.

Colours

The touch panels are available in 8 colours: white, Fog, grey, graphite, ivory, Oyster, olive and black.

RAL colours are approximate and may differ slightly from the actual shade, so use them only as a guide when choosing.

The LightSwitch colour can be set in the Ajax apps. The colour set in the app does not have to match the actual colour of the installed panel. A user with PRO or admin rights can change the colour at any time.

Functional components

• Relays: LightCore (1-gang, 2-gang, 2-way, incl. vertical versions)

• Touch panels: SoloButton, CenterButton, SideButton (1-gang and 2-gang, horizontal and vertical)

• Frames: 2–5 slots, horizontal and vertical

⚠️ Remove the protective film before installing the panel so that the LED indicator works properly.

How it works

LightSwitch Jeweller is a smart touch switch that controls lighting in three ways:

1. Manually (by touch or a wave of the hand)

2. Via the smartphone and desktop apps

3. With automation scenarios

No rewiring is required for installation. No neutral wire is needed – it runs on the live wire only.

LightSwitch can also be used without a hub, working as a regular touch switch.

• Supports loads from 5 to 600 W

• Supplied with a capacitor for low-power lamps

• The frame has LED backlighting (soft and unobtrusive; can be turned off in the app)

Available versions: 1-gang, 2-gang, 2-way.
Combined devices can be installed horizontally or vertically (marked components only).

Besides lighting, LightSwitch can also be used to control other appliances (e.g. one button for the lights, the other for ventilation).

Manual control

• Lighting can be controlled with a wave of the hand from 15 mm away or by touching the panel

• Works in any situation – even with wet or dirty hands

• Panel sensitivity can be adjusted in the app

• The entire panel is touch-sensitive

• Also suitable for public spaces (restaurants, offices, factories)

Remote control

• Lights can be switched from the Ajax app via the Devices or Control menu

• For example, you can turn the lights on before you get home

Automation scenarios

LightSwitch supports automation:

• on alarm

• on arming/disarming

• on schedule

• when a Button is pressed

• by temperature

• by humidity

• by CO₂ level

• when a LightSwitch is pressed

⚠️ If the device is offline (e.g. during a power outage), it will not execute the scenario.

Operating modes

• Bistable (default): switches on/off

• Pulse mode: switches on for a set time (10 seconds to 2 hours) – ideal for corridor lighting, for example

Protection features

• Overcurrent protection: triggers above 2.6 A; the switch cuts the power and flashes red

• Overheat protection: triggers above +60 °C, cuts the power and resets automatically once it has cooled down

Supported lamp types

LightSwitch is compatible with most lamps and light fittings.

⚠️ If the load is too low (≤5 W), the system sends a notification. In this case, use the supplied capacitor or replace the lamp with a higher-wattage one.
