Ajax MotionCam Outdoor PhOD

What is the PhOD model?

PhOD (Photo on Demand) means the camera can take photos manually or automatically, not only when an alarm is triggered: Photo on Demand, Photo by Scenario and Photo by Schedule, provided these settings are enabled

Key specifications:

• Motion detection:

  • 2 × PIR sensors plus the LISA SmartDetect algorithm (two-stage correlation and spectral analysis dramatically reduces false alarms)

  • Detection range: adjustable 3–15 m

  • Horizontal coverage ~90°; camera ~105° × 50°

  • Pets (≤ 80 cm) are ignored when the detector is installed correctly

• Photo verification:

  • Image quality: 1–5 images at 320×176 px or 1–3 images at 640×352 px

  • IR LED illumination enables photos in darkness and low light .

  • Photo delivery to the app: 320×176 px approx. 9 s, 640×352 px approx. 20 s

• Communication and security:

  • Two radio protocols: Jeweller for alarms (compatible with Hub 2, 2 Plus, Hybrid and the ReX2 range extender), Wings for photo transmission up to 1,700 m in open space

  • Anti-masking (detects covering/obstructing the sensor), tamper protection (removal from the mount), encrypted secure connection .

• Power and environment:

  • Power: 4 × CR123A, battery life up to 3 years (2.5 years with “Entry Delay” enabled)

  • Operating temperature: –25…+60 °C, max. humidity 95%

• Installation:

  • Recommended mounting height typically 0.8–1.3 m; easy to install on the SmartBracket mounting panel.

  • Dimensions approx. 206×108×93 mm, weight ~470 g

Additional user insights

• Manual photo requests are a new advantage: get a snapshot of the current situation even when no alarm is triggered

• The camera is not CCTV: images are only sent under predefined conditions, not as a live stream .

• Correct height and angle are important during installation – incorrect placement can reduce the effective detection range
