Features and specifications

Heat detection

• Class A1R thermistors that detect:

  • a static temperature above ~64 °C.

  • a rapid temperature rise of ~10 °C per minute or faster

Alarm operation

• Built-in piezo siren with a volume of up to 85 dB (at ~3 m)

• Interconnected detectors for synchronised alarms: when one detects a hazard, all FireProtect detectors in the system sound the alarm within 20 seconds, even if the hub is offline

Power and battery life

• The device runs on 2 × CR123A batteries, providing up to 7 years of operation (RB version)

• Low battery warning at least 30 days before the critical level – sent to the app and indicated by LED and sound

• The device has a total service life of up to 10 years, after which sensitivity may decrease and replacing the detector is recommended

Connectivity and security features

• Communicates with the Ajax Hub via the Jeweller protocol: maximum range from the hub of up to ~1,700 m in open space

• Encrypted two-way communication; frequency hopping protects the device against signal interference

• Anti-tamper and anti-removal protection: tamper alert; when removed, the app sends a notification and the LED lights up yellow

Use and installation

• Indoor use only, IP20 rating.

• Mounted on the SmartBracket mounting panel in the centre of the ceiling or at a recommended location (~0.5–0.6 m² coverage; in corridors at max. 7.5 m intervals)

Testing and maintenance

• Use the Test/Mute button manually or start a remote test from the app: the device checks its own operation and silences the alarm if needed

• Testing is recommended monthly, or more often in line with local regulations
