Ajax ReX 2 – security system range extender

Ajax ReX 2 gives your Ajax security system flexibility and reliable coverage. This intelligent wireless range extender lets you connect detectors or camera-equipped sensors even when they are located far from the hub or the site has a complex layout, such as a large house, a warehouse, a property with several buildings or a commercial office/hall environment.

Why choose ReX 2?

• Long range and wide coverage – ReX 2 can relay signals between the hub and devices at distances of up to around 1,700 m in open space.

• Visual alarm verification and photo verification – Unlike the first-generation ReX, ReX 2 also supports photo verification (ideally with MotionCam or MotionCam Outdoor detectors, for example), which means that in the event of an alarm, not only the signal but also photos are transmitted, providing an important additional layer of security.

• Fast and reliable alarms – Alarms are transmitted in just 0.3 seconds.

• Backup power and tamper protection – ReX 2 runs on 110–240 V mains power, while the built-in Li-ion battery allows the device to operate autonomously for up to around 38 hours during a power outage. The device also supports tamper, jamming and physical intrusion detection, as well as encryption that protects the signal against interference.

• Easy installation and setup – Adding ReX 2 to the system is simple: scan the device's QR code with the Ajax app, test the signal strength and mount the device on a wall or other surface using the SmartBracket mounting panel. No complex wiring or special installation required.

• Suitable for large and complex sites – By connecting one hub with up to five ReX units, the system's total coverage can extend across several hectares or even square kilometres, making it ideal for multi-building properties, large private homes, warehouses and industrial buildings.

Who Ajax ReX 2 is for and what it's used for

Ajax ReX 2 is ideal if:

• You need a security system for a large house, villa, warehouse or a property with several buildings.

• Your devices (detectors, sirens, camera detectors, etc.) are located far from the hub or need to be spread out, e.g. in a garage, second house, barn, basement, office or hall.

• You want your security system to also support visual alarm verification (photos), whether from motion, window/door opening or other detectors.

• You want the system to work reliably even during a power outage and the signal to stay secure in the event of tampering or signal jamming.

• You want a flexible, scalable and easy-to-manage system, suitable for private homes, commercial premises, warehouses/halls and multi-building properties alike.
