Ajax MotionProtect Plus bevægelsessensor (sort)

🔍 Overview & operating principle

• Type: wireless indoor motion detector combining a PIR infrared sensor and a microwave radar (K-band, 24 GHz) – this dual technology effectively reduces false alarms

• Detection range: up to 12 m, horizontal ~88.5° and vertical ~80°

• Response time: approx. 0.15 s after human motion is detected .

🤖 Accuracy & false alarm filtering

• Microwave scan: after infrared detection, the radar scans the signal to filter out interference (e.g. air currents, curtains, heat, ventilation)

• SmartDetect / SmartDetect + temperature compensation: the software detects human motion while ignoring animals, heat sources, sounds and changes in lighting .

🐾 Pet immunity

• Does not respond to animals up to 20 kg / 50 cm tall (values may vary slightly depending on installation and sensitivity)

• Adjustable sensitivity levels (high/medium/low) let you adapt the detector to different pets

📶 Communication & security

• Communication: uses the Ajax Jeweller protocol – encrypted two-way communication, frequency hopping, jamming detection .

• Communication range: up to ~1,200–1,700 m in open space (depending on obstacles)

• Integration with other systems: can also be connected to third-party control panels via ocBridge Plus or uartBridge

🔋 Power & battery life

• Battery: 1 × CR123A, pre-installed; battery life up to 5 years

• Battery status can be monitored in the app, with low battery notifications sent in advance .

🛠 Installation & maintenance

• Recommended mounting height: ~2.4 m – ensures optimal coverage and correct pet immunity

• Mounting: SmartBracket – easy installation and pairing with the app via QR code.

• Tamper protection: tamper switch with tamper attempt detection and device self-diagnostics – reports removal or tampering

🌡 Operating conditions

• Operating temperature: –10 °C … +40 °C

• Humidity: up to 75% (up to 93% under certain UL conditions) .

• Protection rating: IP50 – designed for indoor use

📏 Dimensions

• Size: 110 × 65 × 50 mm

• Weight: ~96 g

🎯 Typical applications

• Indoor spaces (apartments, houses, offices) with potential false alarm sources (e.g. ventilation, heaters, curtains).

• Ideal for those who expect minimal false alarms, especially near open windows or in corridors.

• Works well alongside a camera solution – for example MotionCam – to provide visual verification in the event of an alarm.
