Fire detection

• Smoke detector: a dual-spectrum optical sensor detects smoke particles and distinguishes smoke from ordinary steam. The device uses Ajax's patented smoke detection algorithm and a dust-resistant smoke chamber.

• Heat detector (Class A1R thermistors): detects a sustained temperature rise above ~64 °C or a rapid rise (> 10 °C) within one minute.

Carbon monoxide (CO) detection

• The electrochemical CO sensor detects*:

  • 50 ppm (0.005 %) – within 90 min maximum

  • 100 ppm (0.01 %) – within up to 40 min

  • 300 ppm (0.03 %) – within approx. 3 min

  • 400 ppm (0.04 %) is life-threatening within 3 hours

• Sensor service life of up to 10 years after installation.

Power and service life

• Powered by two replaceable CR123A batteries (1600 mAh).

• A low battery warning is sent at least 30 days in advance, both via the device's LED indicator and the Ajax app.

• In line with the standard, the device has an overall service life of 10 years, after which the detector should be replaced.

Alarm signal and connectivity

• The built-in siren sounds at ~85 dB (measured at 3 m), with different sound patterns for smoke, heat and CO alarms.

• When one detector senses a hazard, all other FireProtect detectors connected to the system are automatically triggered within 20 seconds – even if the hub is offline.

• The detector communicates with the Ajax Hub via the two-way Jeweller protocol, with a range of up to ~1,700 m in open space.

Design and installation

• Dimensions: ~124 × 124 × 45 mm, weight approx. 275 g

• For indoor installation only. Recommended to be mounted directly in the centre of the ceiling or in another suitable location using the SmartBracket mounting plate. One detector covers an area of ~50–60 m²; in corridors, install detectors no more than 7.5 m apart.

• During installation, avoid light fittings, beams and other features that may obstruct detection.

Practical features and maintenance

• The device can be tested manually using the Test/Mute button on the front or remotely via the Ajax app.

• Automatic self-check and maintenance; lets you monitor connectivity, faults and EOL notifications in the app. A monthly test is recommended.
