Communication and notifications

Communication with the Ajax Hub works through the Jeweller protocol: two-way encrypted connection, frequency hopping and authentication provide reliability and resistance to interference, with range up to approximately 1700 m in open space.

A low-battery warning is sent at least 30 days before the battery is depleted, through the app and the device LED.

Alarm functions

The built-in 85 dB siren at approximately 3 m uses different sound and LED patterns for smoke/heat alarms and CO alarms.

If one detector identifies danger, the sirens of all FireProtect detectors in the system activate within a maximum of 20 seconds, even if the hub is not connected to the internet.

Heat detection

Complies with Class A1R standards, including EN 54-5 and BS 5446-2. An alarm is triggered:

When the temperature rises above approximately 64°C

Or when the temperature rises by more than approximately 10°C per minute

Carbon monoxide detection

The chemical CO sensor alarms at the following levels:

50 ppm: approximately 90 minutes

100 ppm: approximately 40 minutes

300 ppm: approximately 3 minutes

400 ppm: life-threatening in approximately 3 hours

The device stops the alarm when the CO level drops below 50 ppm within one minute.

Sensor lifetime is up to 10 years, after which replacement is recommended.

Power supply and lifetime

Powered by 2 × CR123A batteries, 1600 mAh, with battery life up to 7 years.

Overall device lifetime is up to 10 years, after which sensitivity may decrease and the device should be replaced.

LED indicators

Green: power status, flashes once every 56 seconds

Yellow: warning such as low battery, malfunction or end of service life

Red: detected danger, either CO or temperature alarm

Tamper: notifies when the device is removed from its mount

Installation and maintenance

For indoor use only, IP20.

Installed on the ceiling using the SmartBracket mount, which allows the device to be aligned after fastening by at least 90°.

A manual test can be performed through the app or with the front panel button. The test activates the siren and checks detector functions.

Why choose the Heat/CO model?

It combines heat and carbon monoxide detection in one device, making it a more convenient and space-saving option than two separate detectors.

Suitable for rooms where a smoke detector may cause false alarms, but CO and temperature rise are risk factors.

Works autonomously without a hub, still providing siren and LED alarms, or can be connected to an Ajax hub for remote monitoring and logging.
