Main functions

Fire detection

Smoke sensor: dual-spectrum optical sensor detects smoke particles and filters smoke from ordinary water vapor. The device uses Ajax’s patented smoke detection algorithm and a dust-resistant smoke chamber.

Heat sensor: Class A1R thermistors detect a steady temperature rise above approximately 64°C or a rapid rise of more than 10°C within one minute.

Carbon monoxide detection

The chemical CO sensor detects:

50 ppm, 0.005%: within a maximum of 90 minutes

100 ppm, 0.01%: within up to 40 minutes

300 ppm, 0.03%: in approximately 3 minutes

400 ppm, 0.04%: life-threatening within 3 hours

Sensor lifetime is up to 10 years after installation.

Power supply and lifetime

Powered by two replaceable CR123A batteries, 1600 mAh.

Low battery warning is sent at least 30 days in advance through the device LED indication and the Ajax app.

The device service life is 10 years according to the standard, after which replacement is recommended.

Alarm signal and connection

Built-in siren operates at approximately 85 dB, measured at 3 m distance. Different sound types distinguish smoke, heat and CO alarms.

When one detector identifies danger, all other connected FireProtect detectors in the system are automatically activated within up to 20 seconds, even if the hub is offline.

The detector communicates with the Ajax Hub using the two-way Jeweller protocol, with connection range up to approximately 1700 m in open area.

For indoor installation only. Recommended installation is directly in the center of the ceiling or another suitable location using the SmartBracket screw mount. One detector covers approximately 50–60 m²; in corridors, installation spacing of up to 7.5 m is recommended.

During installation, avoid lights, beams and details that may obstruct detection.

The device can be tested manually with the front Test/Mute button or remotely through the Ajax app.

Automatic monitoring and maintenance allow communication quality, faults and end-of-life notifications to be tracked through the app. Monthly testing is recommended.
