LightSwitch

LightSwitch Jeweller is a smart touch-sensitive light switch for indoor installation. LightSwitch can be substituted for any mechanical or tactile switch: the product range includes: single, double and flex versions. The devices can be combined with Ajax smart switches and/or plugs and can be mounted horizontally or vertically side by side using the Frame.

LightSwitch is installed without modifying the electrical wiring of the object. The device does not require a neutral conductor and operates only on phase. The switch complies with the standard European format (55).

LightSwitch works as part of the Ajax system and communicates with the central unit via Jeweller’s secure radio communication protocol. The communication range is up to 1100 meters in open areas.

Design

LightSwitch is a smart light switch. All the elements of the switch are purchased separately. The elements are connected mechanically without the use of tools. The Ajax product range offers two LightSwitch formats: a single switch and a combined switch. Combination switches can be either horizontal or vertical.

Individual switch

A single LightSwitch consists of two elements: a LightCore relay and a SoloButton touch panel.

Combined switch

The combined switch consists of a number of LightCore relays and a touch-sensitive panel, mounted in a frame with a corresponding number of positions.

Side panels are mounted on the frame to the right and left or up and down, while the middle panels are mounted in the middle. For example, for three switches in one frame, two side panels and one centre panel are used.

Colours

The range includes 8 colour touch panels: white, fog, grey, graphite, ivory, oyster, olive and black.

RAL colours are approximate and may vary slightly from the actual shade, so please use them as a guide only.

In Ajax applications, you can set the LightSwitch colour. The colour set in the application does not have to match the actual colour of the installed panel. A user with PRO or administrator rights can change the colour at any time.

Functional elements

• Releed: LightCore (1-gang, 2-gang, 2-way, including vertical versions)

• Touch-sensitive panels: SoloButton, CenterButton, SideButton (1-gang and 2-gang, horizontal and vertical)

• Frames: 2-5 places, horizontal and vertical.

⚠️ Before installing the panel, the protective film must be removed to ensure that the LED indicator works correctly.

How it works

LightSwitch Jeweller is a smart touch switch that controls light in three ways:

1. Manually (touch or swipe)

2. Via smartphone and computer apps

3. With automated scenarios

No need to change the wiring for installation. No neutral is required – works only from phase.

LightSwitch can also be used without a central unit, acting as a standard touch switch.

• Supports loads from 5 to 600 W

• Supplied with capacitor for low wattage lamps

• LED backlight on the frame (soft, not distracting; can be switched off in the app)

Variants available: 1-gang, 2-gang, 2-way.
Combined units can be installed horizontally or vertically (labelled elements only).

In addition to lighting, LightSwitch can also be used to control other devices (e.g. one button for lighting, another for ventilation).

Manual

• The light can be controlled from a distance of 15 mm with a wave of the hand or by touching the panel.

• Works in all conditions – even with wet or dirty hands

• Panel sensitivity can be adjusted in the app

• The whole panel is touch-sensitive

• Also suitable for public spaces (restaurants, offices, factories)

Remote control

• The light can be switched on from the Ajax Devices app or via the Control menu.

• For example, you can turn on a light before you get home.

Automation scenarios

LightSwitch supports automation:

• in the event of a disorder

• when the guard is switched on/off

• on the basis of a timetable

• Pressing the button

• by temperature

• by humidity

• by CO₂ level

• When pressing LightSwitch

⚠️ If the device is offline (e.g. power failure), this scenario does not apply.

Modes of operation

• Bistable (default): switches on/off

• Pulse mode: switches on for a set time (10 seconds to 2 hours) – suitable for corridor lighting, for example.

Defence mechanisms

• Current protection: activates above 2.6 A, switch cuts off power and flashes red.

• Temperature protection: activates above +60 °C, cuts off power and automatically resumes after cooling down.

Lamp types supported

LightSwitch is compatible with most lamps and lighting devices.

⚠️ If the power is too low (≤5 W), the system sends a message. In this case, use the capacitor provided or replace the lamp with a more powerful one.
