Description
KX15DT Dual Technology PIR Motion Sensor
The dual technology KX15DT combines both PIR (passive infrared motion sensor) and microwave sensor technology to ensure more accurate and reliable motion sensor operation, while minimizing the risk of false alarms. Adjustable settings such as sensitivity and pulse count allow the KX15DT to adapt to different environments and security requirements.
Pyronix KX15DT – Product Features:
Dual Technology:
The KX15DT uses two technologies – a dual-element pyroelectric sensor and an X-band DRO-based microwave sensor, both of which must be activated for an alarm to trigger. This reduces the risk of false alarms, as simultaneous activation of both technologies is required.
Blue Wave Technology (BWT):
The KX15DT is equipped with Blue Wave Technology (BWT) and digital temperature level compensation, which allows automatic adjustment of the sensor’s sensitivity, further increasing the sensor’s immunity to false alarms and environmental effects. This technology helps detect and reduce noise resulting from infrared radiation.
Selectable EOL Resistors:
The sensor includes options for different end-of-line resistor values, including 6K8, 5K6, 4K7, 1K and tamper values 5K6, 4K7, 2K2 and 1K. This allows the sensor to be connected to most control panels available on the market.
AND/OR Technology:
- ‘AND’ mode: The sensor operates like a standard dual technology sensor, where both technologies (PIR and microwave) must be active for an alarm to trigger.
- ‘OR’ mode: An alarm is activated by either the PIR or microwave sensor. This mode is useful in environments where PIR detection may be blocked.
Triple LED Indication:
- Microwave – orange
- PIR – green
- Alarm – blue
Microwave Frequency Ranges:
Three different frequency ranges to avoid interference when multiple detectors are located in the same room.
Blue Wave Technology (BWT):
- 3D optics system: Perfect focus on infrared radiation, enabling precise detection of positive and negative signals.
- Digital temperature level compensation: Adjusts the sensor’s sensitivity according to temperature changes, ensuring consistent performance.
- Enhanced microprocessor software: Processes information received from the pyroelectric sensor, reducing infrared noise amplification and increasing the sensor’s immunity to environmental noise.
The KX15DT is an ideal choice in environments where reducing the number of false alarms and ensuring reliable security is important.
