Functions and technical data

Heat detection

Class A1R thermistors detect:

Static overtemperature above approximately 64°C

Rapid temperature rise above approximately 10°C per minute or faster

Alarm operation

Built-in piezo siren with volume up to 85 dB at approximately 3 m

Multiple detectors can be combined for synchronized alarm: if one detects danger, all FireProtect sensors in the system sound an alarm within up to 20 seconds, even if the hub is offline.

Power supply and lifetime

The device is powered by 2 × CR123A batteries, providing up to 7 years of battery life for the RB version.

Low battery warning is sent at least 30 days before the critical level, through the app and LED/sound notification.

Overall device lifetime is up to 10 years, after which sensitivity may decrease and replacement is recommended.

Connectivity and security

Communicates with the Ajax Hub using the Jeweller protocol, with maximum radio range up to approximately 1700 m in open area.

Encrypted two-way communication and frequency hopping protect the device against signal interference.

Anti-tamper protection: tamper warning when removed, with app notification and yellow LED indication.

Use and installation

For indoor use only, IP20 class.

Installed on the SmartBracket mount in the center of the ceiling or recommended location. Coverage is approximately 0.5–0.6 m²; in corridors, maximum spacing is 7.5 m.

Testing and maintenance

The Test/Mute button can be used manually, or remote testing can be started from the app. The device checks its own operation and can mute the alarm when needed.

Testing is recommended monthly or more often according to local regulations.
