The Ajax FireProtect 2 RB (Heat) is a wireless temperature sensor designed to be used in conjunction with an Ajax hub or standalone in the absence of a hub.
The “RB” designation refers to the battery power: the device uses replaceable CR123A batteries and guarantees up to 7 years of battery life.

Combined multiple sensors for synchronous alerting: if one detects a threat, all FireProtect sensors in the system will alert for up to 20 seconds, even if the hub is offline.
Power supply and lifetime

The device runs on 2 × CR123A batteries for up to 7 years of battery life (RB version).

Low battery warning at least 30 days before critical level – sent via app and LED/alarm alert.

The device has a lifetime of up to 10 years, after which the sensitivity may decrease and replacement of the sensor is recommended.
Connectivity and safety features

Communicates with Ajax Hub using Jeweller protocol: maximum frame coverage from the required hub up to ~1 700 m in open area.

Encrypted, bidirectional connection, frequency hopping protects the device from signal interference

Anti-fraud and anti-withdrawal security feature: with tamper warning; when removed, the app alerts and the LED lights amber.
Use and installation

For indoor use only, IP20 class.

To be installed on the SmartBracket mounting base in the centre of the ceiling or at a recommended location (~0.5-0.6 m² coverage; in corridors max 7.5 m spacing).
Testing and maintenance

You can use the Test/Mute button manually or from the app to run a remote test: the device checks its own performance and silences the alarm if necessary.

It is recommended that the test be carried out monthly, or more frequently according to local regulations.
