Ajax EN54 FireProtect (VAD) Jeweller

FireProtect (VAD) Jeweller is a wireless visual alarm device (VAD) that complies with the European fire safety standards EN 54-23 and EN 54-25 as well as the Electronic Communications Directive RED (2014/53/EU). The device works with Ajax’s robust Jeweller radio communication protocol, providing a reliable and secure connection to the control panel via EN54 Fire Hub or Fire ReX.

Visual alarm (VAD)

• The device displays a visual alarm by means of an LED frame flashing in 90 ms on / 1 910 ms off mode, with a cycle period of 2 000 ms (0,5 Hz).

• Particularly suitable for environments with noise or limited hearing – such as wide corridors, large rooms, ice lines or for the safety of the hearing impaired.

Sound signal

• The VAD depends on a visual signal and does not include an audible alarm (unlike the Sounder/VAD model).

Communication and security

• Uses the Jeweller radio protocol, which allows two-way communication and automatic frequency changes to avoid interference.

• Communication range in open space up to 1 700 m, also compatible with Fire ReX expander.

• Automatic sabotage protection and AES-level encryption ensure system security.

Power supply and lifetime

• Powered by 4 × CR123A batteries, pre-installed and with a lifetime of up to 5 years.
