DomeCam Mini HL – review

The Ajax DomeCam Mini HL is a compact, wired IP video surveillance camera for both indoor and outdoor use, offering sharp images, smart object detection and reliable lighting in all situations.

Main features

Sharp images and different models –the camera is available in 5 MP or 8 MP versions and with different lenses (2.8 mm or 4 mm) to cover a wider area or sharper-focus details when needed.
Hybrid lighting –thanks to hybrid lighting (infrared + white LED), the image remains clear even in the dark: IR lights work in the dark, and white light switches on when you move to see colours and details.
Smart detection – the camera uses artificial intelligence to detect objects: it can distinguish between people, animals and vehicles. This helps to receive only relevant alerts and reduces false positives.
Versatile recording and viewing – videos can be stored either on a microSD card (32-256 GB) or on a network storage device (NVR). In addition, live viewing and archiving of videos is possible.
Resistant to outdoor conditions – the camera body is of high quality, water and dust resistant (IP65), and protected against sabotage. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.
Audio + integration – built-in digital microphone allows audio recording; also supports PoE power and ONVIF/NVR connections – easy to integrate into an existing surveillance or smart system.

More than just video surveillance

A camera with artificial intelligence support.
Ajax cameras provide artificial intelligence-based object detection, ensuring efficient event recording and archiving. Users can configure recording to suit their needs, from continuous recording to motion or AI-detected events. Settings help record critical events such as a vehicle entering a parking area or a person moving in a restricted area. This cuts down on unnecessary footage and makes it easier to review recordings.
AI processing is done directly in the camera, so no additional equipment or subscriptions are required.
Users and security staff can easily monitor premises via their smartphone, receiving instant alerts when motion is detected – no special security training is required.

Customizable video wall on smartphone and PC
Cameras can be managed locally or remotely using Ajax mobile and desktop apps or a local video management system (VMS). All visual data is available in a seamlessly organised virtual video wall. A video wall tab combines the latest sections from the cameras, providing a holistic view of the monitored space. Users can rearrange the sections according to their monitoring needs.

Full-colour visibility even in the dark
BulletCam HL cameras’ hybrid lighting automatically switches between infrared and white light based on object detection or motion detection. This ensures high image quality in low light and night conditions. The feature provides full-colour shots to help identify clothing, vehicle colour or other important details. The sudden white light can also act as a deterrent, warning intruders that they have been spotted.
