Communication & notifications

Communication with the Ajax Hub works with the Jeweller protocol: two-way encrypted connection, frequency hopping and authentication ensure reliability and resilience (range up to ~1 700 m in open area).

A low battery warning is sent at least 30 days before the battery runs out, via the app and the device LED.
Alert functions

Built-in 85 dB siren (~3 m distance) distinguishes sound and LED pattern for smoke/heat or CO alarm.

If one sensor detects a threat, the sirens of all FireProtect sensors in the system will be activated for a maximum of 20 seconds, even if the hub is not connected to the internet.
Heat detection (Heat)

Meets Class A1R standards (EN 54-5, BS 5446-2). An alarm will be given:

If the temperature rises above ~64 °C, or

If the temperature rises more than ~10 °C per minute

Detection of carbon monoxide (CO)

A chemical CO sensor that alarms at the following levels:

50 ppm ≈ 90 min,

100 ppm ≈ 40 min,

300 ppm ≈ 3 min,

400 ppm ≈ life-threatening within ~3 hours – the device will stop alarming if CO levels drop below 50 ppm in a minute.

Sensor lifetime up to 10 years, after which it is recommended to replace the device.

The overall lifetime of the device is up to 10 years, after which sensitivity may decrease and the device should be replaced.

Installation and maintenance

For indoor use only (IP20).

Installed under the ceiling using SmartBracket mounts, which allow the device to be aligned at an angle of at least 90° after mounting.

Possibility to perform a hand test with the app or front panel button – test activates the siren and checks the sensor functions.
